Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).
The significance of this year’s Bauma China exhibition in Shanghai has been highlighted by new figures showing that China invested US$220.27 billion (RMB 1.346 trillion) in civil engineering and infrastructure projects in the first six months of 2013 – with the National Bureau of Statistics of China claiming a year-on-year increase of more than 21%.

Croatia’s construction company Integral Inzinjering has submitted the lowest bid of €43 million for construction of access roads for the Peljeski bridge project.
Croatian daily newspaper Vecernji List reported that seven bidsd were submitted for the 12.4km project.
