Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).
Construction on a new eastern highway connection to the city of Ufa should commence in 2018. The new link will connect the city, the capital of Bashkortostan which forms part of the Russian Federation, to the M-5 Ural Highway. Construction work has commenced on a new coast road project in Vietnam’s Thai Binh Province. Slovakia’s national motorway company NDS has put out to tender two sections of the D1 motorway near Presov and Kosice.
Both tenders have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union, with bid submission deadlines set for June 29.
The first section is the south-west D1 by-pass of Presov at nearly 8km long, including the construction of a 2km duel-tube road tunnel Presov and estimated to cost €443.4 million.
