CNH boss takes on lightweight claims

Look around The New Holland Construction stand at INTERMAT and you’ll see what we can do for the quarrying machine sector – that was the challenge from new 1595 CNH Construction Equipment president Mario Gasparri.

The former CNH International general manager said the Group’s new C-Series of wheel loaders and crawler excavators on show countered any claims of a lack of dedication to the sector.

176 Case Construction Equipment, also part of the CNH Group, weighed in by unveiling its new heavy duty C-Series CX470C excavator during the show.

“The impression has been in some of the markets that CNH is maybe more dedicated to lighter equipment. However, when you look around here, the work we have done with new wheel loaders and excavators should assure people that we are a player in heavy [machinery] lines,” said Gasparri, who took up his new post on April 1.

Gasparri added that CNH was already “very strong” in machine provision for the Latin America quarrying sector, particularly in Brazil. He said CNH was also focused on boosting its Chinese quarrying sector customer base.

“We continue to work to provide all our customers with the machines that they need. We are looking at a distribution model in Europe that brings the sourcing and provision of our machine parts closer to the customer.”

On the company’s progress in meeting European Stage 4 engine emission standard for its machines, Gasparri added: “We have already delivered construction and agricultural machines that meet Tier 4 interim standard. There will only need to be a slight modification to meet full Tier 4 standard.”
