China's Ya'an City sees new highway links

China's Ya'an City is investing US$114 million in infrastructure improvements so far in 2010. This has been spent on five highway projects, including three being built at present. Planning and preparation work is underway on the Ya'an-Kangding highway, for which feasibility studies are being carried out. Construction work is expected to commence later in 2010. However, work on the 105km Ya'an-Leshan highway is underway and is due for completion in 2012. In addition, work on the 53km Qionglai-Mingshan highway is well on track and the link is expected to be complete during 2010. Another road being built at present is the Ya'an-Xichang highway.
