China's important new links

Work is now underway on a new highway in China, the Shenzhen Eastern Corridor expressway.

Work is now underway on a new highway in China, the Shenzhen Eastern Corridor expressway. This route will feature three lanes in either direction and will link Hong Kong with Shenzhen city in China. The project is costing US$879 million and the 31km link is due for completion in three years. The new route starts at the Liantang Checkpoint. Meanwhile China's Yancheng city is focusing on developing coastal transportation projects during 2010. Plans are in hand to spend $1.9 billion on developing 89km of highway.

    China’s new longest highway is due to be completed by the end of June 2014. Around 97% of Xinjiang region's 428.9km Aksu-Kashgar highway is said to have been completed to date.
