China's important new links

Work is now underway on a new highway in China, the Shenzhen Eastern Corridor expressway.

Work is now underway on a new highway in China, the Shenzhen Eastern Corridor expressway. This route will feature three lanes in either direction and will link Hong Kong with Shenzhen city in China. The project is costing US$879 million and the 31km link is due for completion in three years. The new route starts at the Liantang Checkpoint. Meanwhile China's Yancheng city is focusing on developing coastal transportation projects during 2010. Plans are in hand to spend $1.9 billion on developing 89km of highway.

    A major road project is being carried out in Cambodia to improve the transport link between the capital Phnom Penh and the port of Sihanoukville in Preah Sihanouk Province. Work on the 190km road project will cost in the region of US$1.9 billion and should take four years to complete.     Work is now underway in China to build a new highway from Wuhan-Ezhou. The project is expected to cost US$.129 billion and is due for completion in 2020. The new highway will measure 34.3km long and will feature up to three lanes in either direction, as well as 14 bridges. The work is being carried out by the contractor Wuhan Municipal Construction Group.
