China's important new links

Work is now underway on a new highway in China, the Shenzhen Eastern Corridor expressway.

Work is now underway on a new highway in China, the Shenzhen Eastern Corridor expressway. This route will feature three lanes in either direction and will link Hong Kong with Shenzhen city in China. The project is costing US$879 million and the 31km link is due for completion in three years. The new route starts at the Liantang Checkpoint. Meanwhile China's Yancheng city is focusing on developing coastal transportation projects during 2010. Plans are in hand to spend $1.9 billion on developing 89km of highway.

    China’s Guizhou Province is developing its transport infrastructure with a major programme of works being scheduled. Construction for six new highways is commencing during 2019, with the work being planned and managed by the Guizhou Provincial Transportation Department. The contract was awarded to the Chinese construction firms China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and China Railway 19th Bureau Group Company Limited. The companies have established a joint venture partnership to handle the work. The project is costing around US$147 million and the 24km expressway should take around three years to build.
