CGC seals contract with Hyundai for Kuwait bridge project

Combined Group Contracting (CGC) of Kuwait has sealed a contract for a significant bridge project to link Subiyah area and Shuwaikh port in Kuwait. The contract was signed with Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai) of South Korea for building, designing and maintaining the bridge. The Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah project is to be finished in five years. It has been reported that the overall value of the project is US$2.62 billion (KWD 738mn). The project's 21.5% stake will be held by CGC.

6926 Combined Group Contracting (CGC) of Kuwait has sealed a contract for a significant bridge project to link Subiyah area and Shuwaikh port in Kuwait. The contract was signed with 5739 Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai) of South Korea for building, designing and maintaining the bridge.

The Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah project is to be finished in five years. It has been reported that the overall value of the project is US$2.62 billion (KWD 738mn). The project's 21.5% stake will be held by CGC.

    South Korean contractor Hyundai Engineering looks set to win the deal to build Kuwait’s Subiya Causeway project. The award of the deal for this massive US$2.6 billion project has been delayed several times so far but is now on track to be awarded by the end of 2011. It still requires parliamentary approval but has been given approval from Kuwait's Central Tenders Committee (CTC). Hyundai Engineering submitted its bid, the lowest of several made, for the project in February 2011.
