CDE unveils new generation EvoWash
Following an extensive research and development programme 3168 CDE Global unveils its next generation EvoWash sand washing plant, a compact sand washing system integrating a dewatering screen, sump and hydrocyclone configuration which is customised to the specific requirements of the materials washing project on which it is specified.

“Our 2013 EvoWash will include some significant design changes which will further enhance its position as the premium compact sand washing plant on the global market,” says Kevin Vallelly, research and development manager with CDE. It is now 21 years since the system was introduced.

Central to the development of the new Evowash is a new dewatering screen design which will deliver maximum dewatering of the sand product by maximising the transmission of energy into the material while also minimising transfer of vibration to the supporting structure. This is achieved through the introduction of a new laminate side (patent-pending) wall design that provides for a more rigid screen structure while eliminating the requirement for welding or bolts on the gussets. The new screen is 30% lighter than the previous dewatering screen and is galvanised as standard.

The new fully-bolted dewatering screen design also introduces the new Vibro-Sync motor assembly mounted in a horizontal arrangement above the screen which ensures a constant linear motion is maintained in the driving plane. “We spent a lot of time in optimising the new motor arrangement which will deliver increased dewatering performance and also reduce the power requirement by almost 40%,” says Vallelly.

Other developments aimed at maximising plant production include the introduction of new polyurethane liners within the hydrocyclone feed box which can be replaced quickly and easily, and the introduction of a new CDE abrasion-resistant hose to control pump suction and discharge.

The new Evowash will include an option for an integrated 10m stockpile conveyor, which introduces the company’s tried and tested integrated conveyor system from the M2500 mobile washing plant.

ZF has chosen a pair of radial hydraulic motors for use in its compact single-speed hydrostatic transmission, the 2HC85, which has been developed for compact wheeled loaders up to 100kW and 10.5tonnes operating weight. For high-torque start-up, the transmission sends oil to both motors and demands maximum stroke to travel from 0-16kph, before isolating one motor and then using 100% oil flow through the remaining motor to propel the machine to its maximum travel speed of 42kph. ZF said radial motors afford a
