Cameroon’s key road projects

Cameroon’s key road projects will benefit from funding.

Funding worth US$300 million is being sought by Cameroon from the Islamic Development Bank. This will be used to improve the 218km road linking Douala with Bafoussam. Upgrades to the route are expected to cost $302 million, with the Cameroon Government providing the remainder.

Meanwhile, Cameroon’s Northwest Region is also to benefit from further road development works. This is of key importance as current transport links in the north of the country are poor. Work is ongoing for the road connecting Bamenda with Babadjou as well as for the ring road around Bamenda.

  • Nicaragua road project funding deal

    Nicaragua’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MTI) is setting out its road development programme for 2018. In all the plans call for the construction of 171km of roads. Work will be completed for the road from Mulukuku to Siuna, with the first 23km stretch due to open in September 2018 and the remaining 21.5km expected in December 2018.   • Philippines project finding funding

    Road in the area around Mindanao in the Philippines will benefit from the provision of a loan worth US$380 million. This funding package is being supplied by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The loan will be used for the Improving Growth Corridors in Mindanao Road Sector project. This is intended to improve and upgrade up to 280km of roads in the area. A further $123 million is being provided by the Philippines Government for the work, which will cost $503 million in all.
