C-series CX470 excavator takes centre stage on Case’s INTERMAT stand

A 6% increase in lift capacity, greater digging efficiency, reduced emissions and up to 5% lower fuel consumption are the benefits of Case’s new CX470C excavator. The 47 to 50tonne machine has a 9.8litre Stage IIIB engine delivering 270kW at 2,000rpm which contributes to a 5% increase in fuel efficiency and 5% faster cycle times. Some of the savings come from a Boom Economy Control, which automatically reduces engine revs and hydraulic power to the boom when speed and power are not a priority.

Case’s CX470C is faster and more frugal than its predecessor.
A 6% increase in lift capacity, greater digging efficiency, reduced emissions and up to 5% lower fuel consumption are the benefits of 176 Case’s new CX470C excavator.

Swing Relief Control manages the hydraulic power supplied at the start of the swing operation, while Spool Stroke Control automatically adjusts the hydraulic pressures to match the digging operations.

The CX470C is available with a long undercarriage (LC) or retractable undercarriage (RTC) and can be specified in standard or mass excavation (ME) configuration. The LC machines are available with a choice of 2.5 and 3.4m heavy-duty dipper, while the mass excavation machine has a 2.5m dipper with a shorter (6.55m) monoboom.

Lift capacity on the LC chassis is increased to 10,500kg or 9,890kg on the ME undercarriage.

The operator gets a 7% bigger ROPS/FOPS cab, which is 2dB(A) quieter than its B-series predecessor and comes with a high definition 178mm LED monitor that doubles as a colour screen for the standard rear view and optional side view camera.

Doosan Construction Equipment has launched a Dash-3 version of its popular reduced-radius 15tonne excavator, the DX140LCR-3. Powered by a Cummins QSB4.5 Stage IIIB-compliant engine, with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF), the machine has 10% more power and 15% more torque than the previous model. Both main boom and dipper arm forces get an 8% boost, while travel speeds are increased to 5.3km/h, resulting in a claimed a 10% increase in productivity.
