Brazilian road projects on track

A package of road works worth some US$206 million will be carried out in Brazil's Sao Paulo State. The civil engineering work will be focused on roads in the Baixada Santista area.

A package of road works worth some US$206 million will be carried out in Brazil's Sao Paulo State. The civil engineering work will be focussed on roads in the Baixada Santista area. There are three projects planned that will widen and upgrade the the Anchieta and Conego Domenico Rangoni links that connect with the port of Santos and Cubatao's Polo Industrial zone. The work includes improvements to a 55km section of the Anchieta highway and upgrades to the Viaduto Rubens Paiva as well as work on an 8km section of the Conego Domenico Rangoni highway in Cubatao. Work is now starting and will be completed by March 2014, although there will be no toll increases to help pay for the construction activity. The work will be carried out by the Ecovias dos Imigrantes concession, which is headed by Brazilian road management company 2688 Ecorodovias.

    The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded a highway widening contract worth US$202 million (INR 12.32 billion) to IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company. IL&FS will widen to four lanes 127km of the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi section of NH-83 in the north eastern Indian state of Bihar.
