Bosnian highway underway

Construction work on a section of Bosnia's Corridor 5c highway is set to commence by the end of September 2011.

Construction work on a section of Bosnia's Corridor 5c highway is set to commence by the end of September 2011. The section of highway being built is located in Ljubuska and Capljina, with work staring on the 4km Kravica-Bijaca and due for completion in 10 months. Loans worth €511.29 million will be provided jointly by the 1166 European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the 1054 European Investment Bank (EIB).

    Key road construction projects are now moving forward in Bosnia with work on-track for the Sarajevo ringroad as well as the Corridor Vc highway.     Plans are in hand in Romania for the upgrades to the Bucharest ring road. This work is due to be completed by 2014, according to the country’s Transport Ministry. The construction of the 5.6km long highway from Josanica to Butila is being carried out by a consortium of companies made up of HP Investing and Strabag AG.
