Bolivia’s ABC has 2013 road construction budget of US$611.98mn

The Bolivian Road Administration, ABC, has a 2013 state budget of US$611.98 million (BOB 4.29bn) for 2013, according to the firm’s president, Luis Sanchez. Bolivia has 16,000kms of roads. Work on a new section of the road between La Paz and Ilo is underway.

    The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Communications (MIDCom) for Malaysia's Sarawak state on the island of Borneo said that the state will need over US$ 4.68 billion (MYR 15bn) to finance the construction of 5,00kms of new roads. The loan will be used to widen and improve roads across the country and is for 25 years with a grace period of 4.5 years.     Bolivian president Evo Morales said the 77.8km San Ignacio de Moxos-Trinidad road scheme would still go ahead – despite the temporary suspension of work on a contentious section of the route. President Morales’ assurance over the completion of the road, the final section of the highway link between Cochabamba-Beni, was given amid strong objections to the San Ignacio de Moxos-Villa Tunari stretch passing through the TIPNIS natural park.
  • Investments in Ukraine road construction to total US$2.21bn in 2013

    Around US$2.21 billion (UAH 18bn) will be invested in road construction and repairs in Ukraine in 2013. According to infrastructure minister Vladimir Kozak, intentional financial institutions will account for around $362.49 million (UAH 3bn) of the total investments. The rest of funds will be raised under state guarantees. The most significant individual project sum of $108.74 million (UAH 900mn) will be allocated to building a bridge in Zaporozhye. The first stage will be launched in 2014.
