BMW will launch electric car in South Korea

BMW is planning to introduce its new electric vehicle on the market in South Korea in 2014. This will be the firm’s first fully electric vehicle and will feature a top speed of 150km/h. Called the i3, the prototype of this vehicle will be unveiled shortly. Its range has not been disclosed at this stage but it is thought to feature lithium ion type batteries and sophisticated speed controls and regenerative braking features to extend the distance it can travel.

    In South Korea a contractor has been awarded the deal to construct and important new stretch of highway. The US$263.3 million deal is for a section of the Seoul-Sejong expressway. Hanwha Engineering & Construction (Hanwha E&C) will construct the section of the route in Gyeonggi Province. In all the new route will measure some 129km when complete and will connect Guri in Gyeonggi Province to Sejong. This will be one of several new highways running from north to south in South Korea.
