China's Gansu Province is to benefit from a major new highway connection. Work on the Cheng county-Wudu highway is scheduled to start at the end of August 2010.

China's Gansu Province is to benefit from a major new highway connection. Work on the Cheng county-Wudu highway is scheduled to start at the end of August 2010. This will be a major new multi-lane highway and is expected to cost in the region of US$1.61 billion to complete. The Cheng county-Wudu highway will stretch 90.5km when it is open to traffic.

Swindon Borough Council leaders are creating a working group to explore the idea of installing the panels along the A419 dual carriageway near Swindon. The electricity generated is set to fund the scheme, possibly the first of its kind in Britain and targeted for completion within two years.     The Texas Department of Transportation is poised to give the go-ahead to US$1.27 billion worth of freeway to start this year. Plans include extensions to Texas 249 and US 290 in order to give Waller County greater access to major freeways and tollways, according to media reports. The biggest project, which is expected to begin this summer, is the addition of toll lanes to Texas 288, costing $800 million.
