Anybody who knows 688 Bauma, will also know how busy it can get on the way to and from the show, both on the roads and on public transportation. So, to make travel as easy as possible for the exhibitors and visitors to this, the world´s biggest trade show, Messe München has developed a new traffic concept, featuring remote parking areas.

From the airport to bauma

The airport shuttle is a non-stop bus service taking participants straight from the international airport at Munich (stopping at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2), to the North Entrance at the 3995 Messe München exhibition center. During the show, buses run every 15 minutes. Another alternative for participants arriving by air is to take the suburban train (Line S1) to Feldmoching. From there the subway (Line U2) runs straight to Messe München.

Subway and suburban train: The trade-fair center lines

On the U2 subway line from the "Hauptbahnhof" (Central Station), the journey to the exhibition center is less than 20 minutes. At peak times and on all days of the show, the U2 runs every three minutes to the two stops serving bauma – "Messestadt West" and "Messestadt Ost".

The suburban railway – the "S-Bahn" – is another way of getting to the exhibition: Take the S2 to the stop called "Riem"; from there it´s a roughly 15-minute walk to the West Entrance at the exhibition center. A third way on public transportation is to take the S4 to "Trudering" and then change to the U2 for "Messestadt West" or "Messestadt Ost".

By car

A high-tech traffic routing system on all main approach roads directs car drivers to the most suitable parking areas around the exhibition center. Important: Car drivers should follow the traffic routing signs – as they contain the latest information each day – and not their in-car navigation system.

Free remote parking

As well as the parking lots at the exhibition center itself, Messe München is also organizing free remote parking in Feldkirchen and Aschheim. Further parking capacity, on the Saturday of the show, is being made available at the parking garage at the Allianz Arena. Another parking garage, the BMW Parkhaus FIZ am Hart, is open on the Saturday and Sunday, and is free of charge to bauma participants.

On all the days of the show, participants can use the parking areas in Feldkirchen and Aschheim. The parking area at Feldkirchen, by the A94 autobahn and just ten minutes by bus to bauma, has capacity for 2,200 vehicles. Parking here is free and there is a free shuttle bus taking exhibitors and visitors straight to the show. Also just ten minutes away is the parking area in Aschheim, by the A99 autobahn, offering space for 2,500 vehicles. There, too, parking is free, and there is a shuttle bus service to the show.

In addition, on April 20 and 21 – the two busiest days for visitors – further parking areas will be made available. On Saturday, April 20, the parking garage at the Allianz Arena is open, offering 3,000 parking spaces. A shuttle bus operates free between here and the exhibition center. On the Saturday and Sunday – April 20 and 21 – another parking garage is also being opened: the BMW Parkhaus FIZ am Hart at Knorrstrasse 147. This latter is ideal for drivers coming in from the west of the city, on the A8 autobahn (Stuttgart to Munich). It has capacity for 2,000 vehicles. From here the participants can travel to the show on the subway – the "Am Hart" stop on the U2 line is close by. The journey time from here to the Messe München exhibition center by subway is then about 30 minutes.
