New wheeled excavators are now available from German company 2346 Atlas Maschinen. New cabs, improved hydraulics and Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB compliant engines are key features. Stephan Theis director sales and marketing said, “We have a big reduction in noise levels at the operator’s ear.”

Key new models for 2013 are the 140W, 150W and 160W wheeled excavators, with the larger 160W now coming to market and the two smaller units available at the end of the year. Theis said that the combination of the new engines and high efficiency hydraulics are helping deliver fuel savings of up to 25% and he added, “The Deutz Tier 4 Interim engine is really good.”

These wheeled machines have new counterweights and like other units in the range, are offered with cameras integrated into the counterweight for safety, as well as a bracket for a number plate and new LED lights at the rear. Other new machines are offered and all of the firm’s short-tail wheeled excavators are equipped with the proven precise AWE 4-hydraulics. The weight distribution has been optimised to ensure stability, whether the blade is used or optional outriggers are fitted. The 804M wheeled excavator has also been returned to the product range and it will have an operating weight of 6.5tonnes.

The 160WSR is powered by an engine with an output of 80kW and features a power shift transmission as standard equipment. The 180WSR will be equipped with a strong 115kW engine and shares features with the 160WSR.
