The new version of the MC602 has been designed for optimised management of mobile cranes. The latest developments focus on the automation of the machine positioning and on the optimisation of cranes’ workspaces.

When moving a mobile crane, the coordinates of the new position are filed in its anti-collision system and are then automatically transmitted to all the machines around. Ascorel said that this leads to savings of up to several hours for each repositioning of a machine on site. It has been designed to reduce human intervention, increase accuracy and reduce the operating cost of the system. The development is now allowing Ascorel to consider real-time positioning of mobile cranes on construction sites using GPS technology.

Ascorel said that the system now allows one or more tower crane jibs to safely overfly the mobile crane. It automatically secures the boom of the mobile crane when it is telescoped. The system has also been designed to manage the avoidance of collision with the surrounding machines without the need for reprogramming.

The large display screen has been developed to inform the site of the wind speed in real-time. Ascorel also offers beacons to ensure safe air navigation around the cranes.
