The 920 American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) is now open for entries in its annual national video contest on America’s transportation infrastructure. And for 2016, the 6th year this contest has been run, a new category covering road safety has been introduced.

ARTBA says that students of all ages are encouraged to apply. The top four videos – one winner in each age group of the two categories - will each be awarded a US$500 cash prize. The winners will be shown at the association’s National Convention in Tucson, Arizona, October 4th-6th. Sponsored by ARTBA’s Research and Education Division (RED), the contest aims to raise awareness about infrastructure issues by challenging students to develop a brief video (2-4 minutes in length). These should cover various topics such as the condition of America’s transportation network, how to pay for new transportation investments, or how to move products and people more efficiently. And this year’s contest includes a new category for students to discuss ideas for improving road safety.

Submissions will be judged by a panel of ARTBA members, in either the “General Transportation” or “Safety” categories and in one of two age groups, K-12, or post-secondary/college/graduate level.

Additional information can be found on ARTBA’s website.
