ARTBA holding policy discussion event

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and the American Trucking Association (ATA) are holding a joint lunch and policy discussion event. This will mark the 60th anniversary of the law signed by president Eisenhower that kicked-off the funding and construction of the US Interstate Highway System. The 920 American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and the American Trucking Association (ATA) are holding a joint lunch and policy discussion event. This will mark the 60th anniversary of the law signed by president Eisenhower that kicked-off the funding and construction of the US Interstate Highway System. At present the Interstate network stretches for some 75,000km. The event is being held on June 29th 2016 from 12-15:00 at the National Press Club in US capital, Washington DC. The event will explore what the Interstates of the future should look like. Senate Environment & Public Works Committee Chairman Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) will deliver the keynote address. Confirmed speakers participating in the panel discussion include Pat Thomas, senior vice president, state government affairs, UPS; Brad Dean, president & CEO, Myrtle Beach (SC) Chamber of Commerce; Jeff Paniati, executive director and chief executive officer, Institute of Transportation Engineers.
 
Others participants will be announced shortly. The event will be moderated by Jim Pinkerton, a Fox News contributor and former senior official in the Reagan and George HW Bush administrations.
