Construction of the Via Salis, the Czech Republic’s first public-private partnership for a road project, is on schedule, according to VINCI which is leading the construction and operating consortium.
The owner of a new Jaguar car had an unwelcome surprise when he returned to where the vehicle had been parked on a hot day in UK capital London. He had left the car in a street close to where a new building is being constructed, which features large areas of glass in its design. Unfortunately the reflected light from the building’s glass areas was concentrated on the car, proving sufficiently hot to melt some of the plastic trim.
Euro Road Safety, designers of road safety products, has launched Insight to provide learner and newly qualified drivers with extra confidence that they are visible.
The Insight system is made from polypropylene and protrudes no more than the vehicle manufacturer’s factory-fitted wing mirror, explained Phil Thorpe, the inventor of the system.
With new regulations now allowing learner drivers on UK motorways it has become even more important for learners to stay visible on the road.
