IRF Geneva is collaborating with Shell India to improve road safety in the Hazira Port Area in India. The Hazira port area is an industrial area that is home to large companies such as Shell, Reliance Petrochemicals, Essar Steel, Larsen and Toubro, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
This area is also the location for a port operated by Adani, and this port is one of the most important ports in India for the handling of containers. The area also supplies almost 80% of the total demand for gas in India
Hill & Smith Holdings PLC, the international group with leading positions in the supply of infrastructure products and galvanising services to global markets, said performance of the group between July 1 and November 14, 2012, had been “robust”. Net debt as at 31 October 2012 was £93.3m, compared with £89.1m as reported at the half year. The increase, revealed in Hill and Smith’s Interim Management Statement, was said by the Group to principally reflect its investment in a new galvanising plant in the USA,
Children are at serious risk on Europe’s road network. This is the finding of a new report from the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC). According to the ETSC’s analysis of crash data, more than 8,000 children aged 0-14 years have been killed in road traffic collisions over the last 10 years in the European Union. Half of the children killed were travelling in cars, a third were walking and 13% were cycling, with one in every 13 child deaths in the European Union being the result of a road collision.
According to analysis from the Governors Highway Safety Association - GHSA – annual US pedestrian traffic deaths fell for first time since the pandemic, but are still above the pre-pandemic level.
