Antwerp road rebuilding work underway

Major road rebuilding work is being carried out in the Belgian city of Antwerp. The project is for the Antwerp Oosterweel Link and the aim of the work is to reduce traffic congestion and improve journey times. The project is costing €4.3 billion in all. Major road rebuilding work is being carried out in the Belgian city of Antwerp. The project is for the Antwerp Oosterweel Link and the aim of the work is to reduce traffic congestion and improve journey times. The project is costing €4.3 billion in all. Interchanges on the left bank of the Scheldt River are being reconstructed and redesigned. The interchange that links with the E17 is being improved. A new road is being built next to the E17 and E34 to carry local traffic to the motorway. Much of the work for the Antwerp road project is being carried out by contractors from the Netherlands. Arcadis carrying out some of the engineering consultancy work for the project.
