Antwerp road rebuilding work underway

Major road rebuilding work is being carried out in the Belgian city of Antwerp. The project is for the Antwerp Oosterweel Link and the aim of the work is to reduce traffic congestion and improve journey times. The project is costing €4.3 billion in all. Interchanges on the left bank of the Scheldt River are being reconstructed and redesigned. The interchange that links with the E17 is being improved. Major road rebuilding work is being carried out in the Belgian city of Antwerp. The project is for the Antwerp Oosterweel Link and the aim of the work is to reduce traffic congestion and improve journey times. The project is costing €4.3 billion in all. Interchanges on the left bank of the Scheldt River are being reconstructed and redesigned. The interchange that links with the E17 is being improved. A new road is being built next to the E17 and E34 to carry local traffic to the motorway. Much of the work for the Antwerp road project is being carried out by contractors from the Netherlands. Arcadis carrying out some of the engineering consultancy work for the project.

    Work is underway on a major highway project in Victoria State, Australia. Geotechnical work and preliminary surveying is being carried out for the Monash Freeway Upgrade project. In all this project is worth some US$293.66 million (A$400 million). The geotechnical work includes testing of the road surface and stared on the stretch from Berwick-Dadenong North and will continue until late-February 2016.   • Serbia reduces cost of highway construction

    Serbia has managed to reduce the cost of building the Corridor 10 highway by €80 million. These funds will instead be used to pay for upgrades and improvements needed for the second section of the highway project, close to Neradovci. So far some 180km of the Corridor 10 highway has been built over a 40 month time frame. A further 150km of the highway has still to be built. Work on the Corridor 10 motorway is also being financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the state budget.
