Antwerp road rebuilding work underway

Major road rebuilding work is being carried out in the Belgian city of Antwerp. The project is for the Antwerp Oosterweel Link and the aim of the work is to reduce traffic congestion and improve journey times. The project is costing €4.3 billion in all. Major road rebuilding work is being carried out in the Belgian city of Antwerp. The project is for the Antwerp Oosterweel Link and the aim of the work is to reduce traffic congestion and improve journey times. The project is costing €4.3 billion in all. Interchanges on the left bank of the Scheldt River are being reconstructed and redesigned. The interchange that links with the E17 is being improved. A new road is being built next to the E17 and E34 to carry local traffic to the motorway. Much of the work for the Antwerp road project is being carried out by contractors from the Netherlands. Arcadis carrying out some of the engineering consultancy work for the project.

The WHSD connects the Southern, Central and Northern sections of St Petersburg and will open to traffic at the end of December.     Algeria’s Public Works Ministry has announced it plans to build new expressway connections to the country’s East-West highway. These expressways will link the Algeria’s ports to the East-West highway, with the aim of reducing congestion and improving traffic flow.     A major highway widening project is now planned for the M20 route in the Netherland. A budget of €124 million has been set for the work, which will see the stretch between Nieuwekerk aan den IJssel and Gouda being widened. This section features two lanes in either direction at present but the work will see the stretch featuring three lanes in either direction. The work will help reduce congestion and delays for drivers, improving journey times at peak periods.
