Angola’s high crash rate costing lives but is reducing

Angola’s high rate of road crashes is costing lives. Official data reveals that 2,189 people were killed in road crashes over the first nine months of 2016. Meanwhile 8,518 were injured in 8,452 road crashes in this period. However there is some overall improvement in road safety in Angola as the fatality rate for this time period is 827 lower than first nine months of 2015. In addition, the number of crashes dropped by 3,453 while the number of injuries fell by 3,443, showing that the country’s road safety

    Vietnam has seen a drop in road traffic crashes in the period from January-April 2016 compared with the same period in 2015. According to Vietnam’s National Traffic Safety Committee, the number of road crashes fell by 12.6% to 6,620 during this period. Collisions accounted for 3,190 of Vietnam’s road crashes, which resulted in 1,945 serious injuries and caused 2,790 fatalities during the January-April 2016 period.

This shows 225 people have died in traffic crashes in Spain during the summer months of 2015, which is 2% more than in the same period of 2014. But figures for the first eight months of the year, however, show a 2% decrease in fatalities, which have totalled 727.
