6791 Ammann will be unveiling its first ever 9-tonne roller as part of a 20-strong range of new rollers that meet Euro 3B and Tier 4 Interim emission standards.

Part of Ammann’s largest machine market launch to date and fitted with a Deutz 74kW engine, the ARX 90 tandem roller is said to be Swiss firm’s most important product with regard to volume in global applications. A Tier 3B version of the ARX 90 is due to become available during the course of 2013.

A panoramic cab with all-round glazing is said to provide the ARX 90 operator with an ideal view of a working area and roller drums in any position. With an operating weight of 9.1tonnes and working width of 1,680mm, the model’s redesigned operating platform is said to offer optimum operating convenience, safety and a clearly laid out operating console that supports the operator through intuitive operator navigation for each function.

ACE, Ammann’s compaction and documentation system, is an optional extra for the ARX 90 and all other pivot-steered asphalt rollers. The system is said by Ammann to provide operators with a constant overview of work progress on a large display and enables the recording and transfer of results via a USB and a GPS connection.

The new full range of Euro 3B and Tier 4 emission compliant Ammann rollers consists of: ASC 70, 90, 110, 130, 150, and 170 single drum rollers; ARP 85 and 95 articulated tandem rollers; ARX 12, 16, 20, 23, 26, 35, 40, 45, 90, 110, and 130 pivot-steering tandem rollers; and the AP2 240 pneumatic tyred roller.
