Algeria is opening more sections of highway during 2013

Algeria’s Ministry of Transport is prioritising highway construction work for 2013. In all 13 motorway projects are due for completion in 2013, of which most will be North-South routes. Links from the new East-West highway to the country’s major ports will also be constructed, as well as a number of new roads to provide better connections to towns and villages in the south of the country. Algeria’s Ministry of Transport is prioritising highway construction work for 2013. In all 13 motorway projects are due for completion in 2013, of which most will be North-South routes. Links from the new East-West highway to the country’s major ports will also be constructed, as well as a number of new roads to provide better connections to towns and villages in the south of the country. Algeria’s East-West highway is of key importance to the country and runs from the Moroccan border to the Tunisian border. The stretch from Constantine-Skikda is due for completion in March 2013, while a 1,200km section connecting Tlemcen with Annaba is expected to open to traffic by mid 2013.
