Construction work has commenced on Albania's latest highway project.

Construction work has commenced on Albania's latest highway project. This new link will connect capital Tirana with the city of Elbasan in the centre of the country. The construction work on a 32km stretch of the highway is being carried out by Greek contractor 1570 Aktor and this section includes a 4.3km tunnel. Funding for the project is being provided by the Islamic Bank for Development.
