Abdullah A. Al-Mogbel elected as IRF-WPC chairman

Abdullah A. Al-Mogbel, the Deputy Minister for Roads, Ministry of Transport, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has been elected as the new chairman of the Washington Program Center of IRF (IRF-WPC), USA.

Abdullah A. Al-Mogbel, the Deputy Minister for Roads, Ministry of Transport, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has been elected as the new chairman of the Washington Program Center of 2462 IRF (IRF-WPC), USA.

He is the first IRF-WPC chairman to be elected outside of North America and the first chairman from the public sector.

The Deputy Minister said: “I would like to thank the board of directors, the General Assembly and the members of IRF-WPC for their trust and confidence. I look forward to working with the executive committee and board of directors and carry the vision of IRF forward. IRF will continue to be a leading organisation, bringing organisations from all over the world together to solve transportation's toughest challenges, especially in developing countries.”

Deputy Minister Al-Mogbel replaces outgoing chairman Brian Harris, president and CEO of Vidrifa.

Patrick Sankey, president and CEO, IRF-WPC, said: “IRF is very fortunate to have had an accomplished executive such as Mr Harris lead the IRF with vision and distinction.

“Brian Harris, Peter Boyd and Brian Stearman ushered in a new era for IRF over the past decade. And our newly-elected chairman is also a man of great vision and resolve.”
