A1 Poland contract worth over €238.4mn signed by GDDKiA and consortium

Polish road authority GDDKiA has signed a contract with a consortium of Salini Polska, Przedsibiorstwo Budowy Drógi Mostów Kobylarnia and Impreglio for completing two sections of the A1 motorway. The combined value of two sections (Brzezie- Kowal and Czerniewice-Brzezie) stands at over €238.24 million (PLN 1bn). The works are due to start in the second quarter of 2013, with the completion expected to take 11 months on the Czerniewice-Brzezie section, and a year on the Kowal-Brzezie stretch.

Polish road authority 1361 GDDKiA has signed a contract with a consortium of Salini Polska, Przedsibiorstwo Budowy Drógi Mostów Kobylarnia and Impreglio for completing two sections of the A1 motorway.

The combined value of two sections (Brzezie- Kowal and Czerniewice-Brzezie) stands at over €238.24 million (PLN 1bn). The works are due to start in the second quarter of 2013, with the completion expected to take 11 months on the Czerniewice-Brzezie section, and a year on the Kowal-Brzezie stretch.

    Plans are underway for the Warsaw Ring Road project in Poland. Italian contractor Astaldi made the lowest offer for the project at €289.95 million. The work calls for a 4.6km section of the route to be constructed, including what will be Poland’s longest road tunnel once complete. There have been 10 bidders for the tender, being handled by the Polish road authority GDDKiA. Other bidders included the Porr Polska consortium and a construction consortium comprising contractors Budimex and Strabag.

    Interest is strong in the Polish project being planned to connect Wolin Island and Uznam Island in the north of the country. In all 14 bids were received for the design and build contract during the tender process. The contract should be signed at the end of 2017 and the work is expected to be complete by late 2021. The project has been planned by the Polish roads authority, GDDKiA, and involves the construction of a 3.4km tunnel connection.
