The Philippino Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will provide US$46 million, which will be used for preventive maintenance of roads as well as installing road safety devices. The budget will be used by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for duties including the construction, installation and application of road safety devices for national roads as well as preventive maintenance to 474km of national roads.
The Israel National Roads Company (INRC) has developed an action plan with record levels of spending for 2012. The INRC is publishing tenders for projects this year worth a total of US$942.65 million. The INRC will publish some 36 tenders in 2012, roughly three/month. Proposals to link the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) and North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) have been approved by the government of the Philippines. The proposals came from Citra Metro Manila Tollways (Citra) and Metro Pacific Investments Corp (MPIC). Citra intends to develop a US$580.64million six-lane elevated tollway stretching 14km.
