Construction work is now starting in the Philippines for two major toll road projects, with both being carried out by San Miguel Corp (SMC). Design work for both projects was completed in late 2024.

The SALEx expressway project will stretch 40.65km and is worth $2.66 billion. Construction for this elevated expressway will include three sections for the Metro Manila Skyway and Shoreline Express.

Meanwhile, construction of the first section of the 136.4km NALEx will cost $2.59 billion. This route will link Metro Manila with Central Luzon as well as the New Manila International Airport. The second section of the NALEx project will link with Pampanga and Tarlac City.

In addition, work is due to start for Segment 1 of the tolled SLEX TR5, which will cost and feature four interchanges.
