Lane Construction will handle the $238 million upgrade project for a stretch of I-75 in Florida. The 12.8km stretch of I-75 is in Marion County in Northern Florida and the project was awarded to Lane Construction, the US Webuild subsidiary, by the Florida Department of Transportation. The project forms part of the Moving Florida Forward Infrastructure intended to improve road infrastructure across the state. This package of works follows close behind the award of a project for Lane Construction by North Carolina Department of Transportation for upgrade work to a stretch of I-85 close to Charlotte.

The work will see the stretch of highway benefiting from a significant increase in capacity as well as improved safety for drivers in the event of emergency evacuations. Boosting capacity will cut traffic delays by 96% in the northbound direction and 88% in the southbound direction. Work on the project will commence in 2026 and is expected to take three years to complete.

The project will deliver new auxiliary lanes between the I-75 interchanges for SR 200 and SR 326. One existing bridge will be replaced while two new bridges will be built, along with a new interchange at 49th Street. Safety upgrades will be made for the three interchanges with SR 40, US 27 and SR 326. In addition, drainage systems will be improved, while noise abatement measures will be constructed.

Lane Construction is carrying out several projects in Florida already including the I-275/I-4 Downtown Tampa Interchange (DTI) project, the Seminole Expressway/SR 417 Widening project in Seminole County and the I-4 at SR 33 Interchange project in Polk County. They also include the Turnpike Mainline Widening project in Lake County, the interchanges between the I-4 and Sand Lake Road, and the I-4 and the SR 535 in Orange County.
