Funding worth $165 million is helping to finance Colombia’s Network of Valle del Cauca 5G project. The project is being carried out by the Rutas del Valle concession partners and the work will cut travel times and boost economic development in the region.
Construction started in August 2024 and should be ready for traffic during 2027. The project has been split into five sections, with work well underway on stretches 2, 3 and 4 and construction yet to commence for stretches 1 and 5.
The section 2 includes improvements to 180km of roads including the routes linking Palmira with Buga, Cali with Candelaria and Cali with Palmira. The 15km of work for section 3 includes extending Avenida Ciudad de Cali to Jamundí and Puerto Tejada. The section 4 includes widening the Jamundí-Y de Villarrica road and building the 180m León Valencia Bridge spanning the Cauca River.
