The International Road Federation (IRF Global), in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Roads General Authority, hosted the landmark Road Safety & Sustainability Conference in Riyadh from November 3 to 4. With over 1,000 participants from 50 countries, the conference explored how innovation can drive progress in road safety and sustainable transport under the theme 'Innovating for Tomorrow.'

Discussions at the conference emphasised the importance of modern solutions to reduce road traffic accidents and enhance the resilience of transportation networks. Among the highlights was a ministerial session featuring high-ranking officials from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Georgia, Cyprus, and Nepal. The panel shared insights on successful road safety policies and the critical lessons learned from implementation.

The conference also brought attention to sustainable practices in infrastructure development, including the use of eco-friendly materials and innovative construction techniques. Alongside the discussions, an exhibition showcased state-of-the-art technologies designed to improve road safety and optimise transport efficiency.

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 framework was a guiding force throughout the event, underlining the Kingdom’s ambition to modernise its infrastructure while making roads safer and more sustainable.
