The Ethiopian dealer Ries Engineering S Co (RESCO) expands the McCloskey distributor coverage worldwide in a growing market. The dealer has already finalised deals with customers and intends to further increase the presence of the McCloskey brand across East Africa.

“Having Ries on board will further strengthen our expanding distribution network in Africa. Ethiopia presents some novel and exciting possibilities that we anticipate will contribute to our growth in the marketplace,” said John O’Neill, vice-president of marketing & sales for 4982 McCloskey International. “Ries has excellent relationships with customers in the aggregate, construction and infrastructure industries, and working together will benefit not only our companies but – more importantly – their customers. “

Founded as an independent company in 1965, Ries Engineering S Co (RESCO) is the 178 Caterpillar dealer representative for Ethiopia.

Ries has already put three units out in the field, including a J44 jaw crusher, a C38 cone crusher and an S130 Triple Deck (pictured here). Orders have been placed to add more to the growing fleet of McCloskey in the region.

Ries Engineering opted to become a dealer for McCloskey to meet anticipated demand from the extraction sector. The firm was keen to add crushers and screeners to its equipment line-up and said that the range complements its existing earth-moving and asphalt plant equipment. In addition to Caterpillar, RESCO represents other internationally reputed manufacturerd, including Massey Ferguson, 299 Perkins, 3423 Ford, 273 Marini, and Berthoud.

The head office of RESCO, which also includes the main workshop and parts depot, is located in the southern outskirts of Addis Ababa along Debre Zeit Road and is set-up on an area of 28,000m2. In order to facilitate the support it gives to its customers, RESCO has set up four branches in key regional centres (Bahir Dar, Dire Dawa, Hawassa and Mekele). It is also in the process of opening additional branches in other regional towns. Ries Engineering serves a number of private and government customers in the region, across industries including extraction and construction.
