This global event scheduled to be held in Delhi, India on November 14-17, 2017 is shaping up as a high profile event with confirmation of the participation of senior professionals from the road and mobility sectors of a number of countries. These include Abu Dhabi, Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Cameroon, China, Columbia, Congo (Democratic Republic), Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lesotho, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, United Kingdom, UAE and the US. The Transport Ministers from Burundi, Czech Republic, Finland, Luxembourg, Russia and India have also confirmed their participation in the exclusive Transport Ministers’ Forum on the November 13 2017 and shall attend the WRM 2017 with their delegations. The state government departments in India, academia and the industry have responded positively and will be present in significant number at the WRM 2017. 

The Conference theme: ‘’Safe Roads and Smart Mobility; the Engines of Economic Growth’’ will be extensively covered through high-level Plenary Sessions to be addressed by eminent personalities from the road and mobility sectors as well as from the civilian society. Some of the notable plenary speakers include Jean Todt, FIA President, UN secretary general’s special envoy for Road Safety, Prof Moshe Ben Akiva, MIT, USA, Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji, Founder, Art of Living Foundation, amongst others.

The 44 technical sessions spanning 4 days, will involve intense deliberation on 10 thematic streams.  These themes will be critically analysed in the parallel sessions to be held after the plenary every day. The speakers’ profiles with their topic of presentation will be made available on the WRM website shortly afterwards.

One of the highlights of the WRM Conference is its Special Sessions, being organised in collaboration with our Supporting Partners. These Sessions are being organised in association with 3141 PIARC, 2332 World Bank, TRB, FIA, CHTS, iRAP, IRU, the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, the African Community, Chief Ministers’ of India and Corporate India. Placing emphasis on the aspect of Mobility, a dedicated Session with the transport minister of Finland, Anne Berner, will also be part of the WRM 2017. 1201 IRF Geneva will showcase its ‘’Drive Safe India’’ and ‘’ITS in India’’ initiatives through dedicated special sessions. 

The young professionals will be provided a platform to showcase their ideas through three dedicated Young Professionals Lab sessions
