Preparations are currently underway for major regional and thematic events, which will culminate with the 5th edition of IRF’s flagship “Roads to Tomorrow” (R2T) conference in Phoenix, Arizona in November 2023. Two “Vision Zero” conferences, one each in the Balkans and the Middle East will seek to harness regional road safety efforts around sound road design and management practices. Finally, two regional conferences, held in Ghana and the Bahamas respectively, will endeavor to promote regional knowledge platforms supporting investments in sustainable and resilient road infrastructure.

Combined, these events will offer IRF members and road practitioners everywhere a valuable opportunity to present their work, develop key skillsets and expand their professional network. For the host countries, they also represent a chance to showcase national achievements and support the knowledge-sharing goals of the IRF, as the organisation enters its 75th year of existence.

IRF courses recognised by CIHT

The International Road Federation has been approved as a training provider by the UK-based Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT), a respected professional body that provides transportation professionals with recognition, support and business insights to accelerate their careers and influence the future of the sector.

As an approved training provider, IRF’s continuing education programs will now be more widely available at preferential rates to a large group of road and transport professionals worldwide. IRF’s global training curriculum now numbers 46 courses in 8 major disciplines available for delivery in-country, online or at one of three regional training centres.

“CIHT are delighted to award the International Road Federation CIHT Approved Training Provider status. This award is a benchmark of quality and indicates that the learning content of the IRF’s Continuing Professional Development activities are reflective of the latest industry standards and practices. We look forward to working with the IRF and promoting their courses.”
