In 2013, 2462 IRF members launched three new regional affairs Committees covering Latin America & the Caribbean, the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa, each tasked with connecting with IRF members active in these regions and developing bespoke capacity building programs that leverage IRF know-how. IRF is also strengthening its program of operations in the Asia Pacific region following renewed interested expressed by senior government officials during the recent IRF World Meeting.

In 2014, IRF is leveraging its international presence and convening power to hold an unprecedented four regional congresses covering a spectrum of transport themes, defined with regional stakeholders and designed to serve rapidly expanding markets. Each regional congress will be structured around a policy agenda, a practitioner-led exchange of best practices and a compelling program of site visits.

The system minimises the impact of events and optimises network performance. It provides visibility on how the whole network is performing and improves cooperation between control centers and coordination of incident response. It also supports improved equipment fault management, disaster recovery redundancy and continuous control room operation.

NTS also delivers information to travellers helping them Plan and adjust their journeys in real time via dissemination of information through roadside infrastructure and smart media including internet, phone/fax/SMS/email, and via radio and TV channels.

NTS supports Trafikverket’s national multimodal transport responsibilities and positively affects everyone in Sweden, from the local to the national level, and places Trafikverket at the leading edge of transportation management technology solutions.
