The General Assembly, board of directors and executive committee of the International Road Federation, as well as a joint meeting with council members of the ITACET Foundation (pictured) were held on February 24th in Paris, France, under the chairmanship of Eng Abdullah A Al-Mogbel.

Against a backdrop of fast-paced change and innovation within the road and transportation industry, 3918 IRF Washington has continued to expand programmes and services, and the 2015 IRF General Assembly offered an opportunity for members to learn about, and help shape, the future of these programmes.

Highlights of the 2015 programme of work include four regional congresses, confirmed training programmes in 12 countries and a commitment to go on developing advocacy initiatives and knowledge products for IRF members and the wider road community.
IRF members today represent the Who’s Who of the diverse and major stakeholders of the road engineering and transportation industry, and together they form the world’s leading platform for knowledge sharing and for international business development (government to government, business to government, business to business).

“Since 1948 the IRF has been connecting governments, academia and industry around the world,” said IRF president & CEO C Patrick Sankey. “The organisations who choose to be a part of the IRF come from the leading edge of innovation in a number of different knowledge specialties in road engineering and transport. The IRF’s new members in 2014 cover all of the IRF’s knowledge specialties well, with many companies holding multiple areas of expertise.”
