Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) has ambitions to be the number one construction equipment supplier in Europe, revealed president and CEO Moriaki Kadoya.

He was speaking at INTERMAT 2015 where his company unveiled a host of new products. These included 233 Hitachi Construction Machinery’s first mass production hybrid wheeled loader, the ZW220HYB-5, to be launched into the Japanese market later this year. He also highlighted HCME’s first model of its Zaxis-6 medium excavator range, the ZX300LC-6, which is also the first Stage 4 excavator from Hitachi. “We have had many inquiries here and our dealers are working, and we are having discussions with rental companies and end users,” he said. “We have sold some units and the outlook is very good for us. We have big ambitions. We are one of the top in the crawler excavator market in Europe in general and we are getting stronger in wheeled excavators and wheeled loaders.” The French market, where HCME has been present for 35 years, is the third largest in Europe after France and Germany. “We want to be number one. We are confident that we will be number one,” Kadoya concluded.
