Ethiopia is undergoing a rapid economic growth and infrastructure construction programme. This is helping drive the country’s economy, with new roads, railways and dams amongst the major civils works currently under construction. The road expansion programme is one of the key targets for the infrastructure work and it is estimated that road network of the country will be expanded to 136,000km in all.
Roadtec is now developing its RX600eLR milling machine as a more versatile unit for the 2m class. The machine has been unveiled in prototype form, with full testing set to commence shortly. A key development for the RX600eLR is that the drum is driven by two hydrostatic motors, with one mounted on each side.
Heatec’s new emulsion mill skid is on display at Conexpo. The skid, designed to produce 54tonnes of emulsified asphalt per hour, includes an asphalt meter system, a latex pump, a control panel, and the new Barracuda colloid mill.
