Caterpillar now offers Cat Grade technologies as an aftermarket option to owners of Cat next generation mini hydraulic excavators in the 6-10tonne class range. The systems are available through Cat and Sitech dealers and allow owners to equip machines with Cat Grade with Advanced 2D, or Cat Grade with 3D. The field kit’s modular components allow quick installation, while the technology integrates into the Cat excavator electronics infrastructure.
Ammann is offering a new 7.5tonne class asphalt compactor in the shape of its ARP75 rigid chassis, drum steer machine. With power from a 55.4kW Kubota diesel that meets the Tier 4 Final/Stage V emissions requirements, the machine is said to be productive and fuel- efficient.
Dr Volker Knickel, CEO of the Wirtgen Group said that the firm is working to deliver sustainable and efficient road construction technologies. Warm asphalt plays a key role in sustainable road construction and will grow in use in the next few years. Dr Knickel commented that sustainability will be of increasing importance for contractors, while in Germany there are also stricter regulations on reducing the exposure site personnel to VOCs.
