CMI Roadbuilding has taken the wraps off a second Roto-Mill cold planer at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG show. The RM-6 joins the larger RM-7 launched last year, offering much of the performance of the bigger machine but with more compact dimensions. Powered by a Tier 4 Final Cummins QSX15 diesel engine, delivering 466kW, the RM-6 has a hydrostatic drive system with variable speed ground motors.
Innovative asphalt compaction machines are now being introduced by several of the major manufacturers, with solutions offering improved working efficiency and performance.
Three of the most innovative developments for asphalt rollers come from Dynapac, BOMAG and Hamm, although new asphalt compactors are also being introduced by other firms such as Ammann and Caterpillar.
BOMAG is extending its milling machine range with new large, medium and compact machines. The new top-of-the-range milling machines are the BM2000/75 and BM2200/75, with cutting widths of 2m and 2.2m respectively. These machines can cut to depths of 350mm and are said to have more power than rival models in their class due to the 560kW engine.
