BOMAG introduces its new generation of Universal and Highway class pavers. The BF 600 C-3, BF 600 P-3, BF 700 C-3 and BF 800 C-3 models are available worldwide. The pioneering Advanced Pave digital assistance system and the new electronic side-mounted control panel offer added value for operators and road construction companies. The intuitive dashboard with full graphic display blends harmoniously into the overall ergonomic concept. The digital co-pilot facilitates operation, allowing the operator to manage the work effortlessly – asphalt paving is completed even sooner and with minimal effort. The optional multi-function seat offers a further plus in operating comfort: control units in the armrests mean the operator can relax with all important functions to hand, enabling full focus on the paving process. Construction progress is transparent and documented, as the pavers transmit process data in real time to the digital site management system via BOMAG JOBLINK.

BOMAG Generation Fertiger2The third generation of BOMAG Universal and Highway class pavers is equipped with the new Advanced Pave digital assistance system. It was developed to support the machine operator as much as possible during complex tasks.

Perfect management of asphalt paving

This begins with the ergonomic design of the workplace. The comfortable swivel seat provides the operator with a perfect all-round view while being able to see all important information at a glance on a clearly arranged dashboard with full graphic display. The optional equipment with a multi-function swivel seat goes one step further in terms of operating comfort offering additional individual adjustment options. Clear advantage: the multi-function seat has the most important operating functions integrated into the ergonomic arm consoles and thus perfectly to hand, such as the travel joystick, which can also directly control the hopper wings and front gate. As an extra option, the position of the dashboard can be individually adjusted so the driver can easily keep it in view in all conceivable working situations.

Digital assistance system: quality and speed are a question of configuration

With Advanced Pave, BOMAG brings full transparency to the cockpit. The operator can easily view all machine and process-relevant functions on the intuitive display at any time and intervene fully informed. With pre-programmed and individual settings, Advanced Pave also automates recurring, complex set-up procedures. This saves valuable time when configuring the machine. In addition, it is now much easier to reproduce the exact same quality BOMAG Generation Fertiger3with tried-and-tested settings, regardless of the operator, as they can be recalled from the machine’s “memory” at any time at the press of a button. A-Pave Smartpave does just that: what used to require several steps now takes just one. All the operator has to do is select the required paving layer. The Assistant takes care of the optimum machine settings for the conveyor belt, augers, screed temperature and tamper and vibration frequency.

With A-Pave Set, the machine can be set to transport or working mode in seconds. Whether screed, levelling cylinder or spreading auger, the Assistant brings all functions into position, making the machine ready for operation or loading. A-Pave Start also thinks ahead when starting or interrupting the work process: the screed is automatically unloaded, locked and returned to floating position.

Side-mounted control panel: knowing more means paving better

BOMAG Generation Fertiger4With the new fully electronic side-mounted control panel, BOMAG is once again setting standards in terms of information and collaboration management. Never before has it been so easy for the side operator to see all relevant information on the paving process and the machine's current settings in real time. The intelligent material calculator, for example, is particularly useful; it precisely predicts the material requirements for the job and reliably indicates the quantity of material already installed. The levelling controller is also integrated. The operator can intuitively view the setting of the cross slope and the crown profile over a defined distance at any time via the automatic profile system. Whether it is the crown profile, auger mount, tamper frequency or vibration, the operator can view all settings at any time on the clearly designed side-mounted graphic display. If even more control over the paving process is required, the material temperature can be monitored with an optional sensor.

The new electronic side-mounted control panel from BOMAG unites a wealth of information with intuitive and well-thought-out operating concepts. It therefore offers high added value in terms of safety, efficiency, and quality in asphalt paving, even without intensive workforce training.

Making the tried and tested even better

That is why many proven functions are also found in the third generation. Particularly worthy of mention are the patented Sideview concept with laterally sliding driver’s stand for perfect visibility and the innovative BOMAG MAGMALIFE screed heating system. The heating rods cast in aluminium not only ensure rapid heating and homogeneous heat distribution, but MAGMALIFE also pays off in terms of the service life of the heating elements. The popular Quick Coupling system enables the customary fast set-up times.

BOMAG Generation Fertiger4The third-generation BOMAG Universal and Highway pavers also offer maximum flexibility in a wide range of paving widths, with basic screeds available from 2.55 to 5 metres or 3 to 6 metres. The BF 600 C-3 is designed for paving widths up to a maximum of 8 metres, BF 700 C-3 up to 9 metres and BF 800 C-3 up to 10 metres. The third-generation machines are equipped with powerful Deutz 6-cylinder engines with 116 kilowatts (BF 600 C-3), 129 kilowatts (BF 600 P-3, BF 700 C-3) and 140 kilowatts (BF 800 C-3). The diesel engines meet either the Stage IIIa/TIER 3 or Stage V/TIER 4f emissions standards as a matter of course. Intelligent engine and hydraulics management ensures optimised fuel consumption and comparatively low noise emissions. BOMAG ECOMODE always dynamically adapts the hydraulic power to the current demand.

  • The Path to Climate-Neutral Road Construction
    October 1, 2023
Machine manufacturers and construction companies around the globe are currently searching for ways to achieve the goal of climate-neutral construction. The challenge here is to successively reduce emissions of CO2 and other harmful gases (summarized to CO2 equivalents: CO2e) around the world to zero over the coming decades. In the road construction sector, this transformation is inextricably linked to the improvement and further development of production and working processes. In the future, machines and construction materials will also be assessed based on the climate-harmful emissions arising from their production and use. However, the focus should not be on individual machines, but on the entire process leading up to the finished product – a road. Ultimately, the decisive factor is the emissions generated per kilometer of newly built or rehabilitated road – the “CO2e per work done”.
