Manitowoc launches Grove GMK5150 crane

Manitowoc’s all-terrain crane portfolio has been extended with the launch of the five-axle Grove GMK5150 and GMK5150L. These 150tonne capacity cranes feature a compact design over the models the GMK5130-2 and GMK5110-1 they replace. Maximum counterweight for the GMK5150 and GMK5150L is 45tonnes and is said to help both models achieve an overall load chart increase of 20% over their predecessors. Five-axle Grove GMK5150 boasts 150tonne lift capacity

2123 Manitowoc’s all-terrain crane portfolio has been extended with the launch of the five-axle Grove GMK5150 and GMK5150L.

Up to 10.2tonnes of counterweight can be carried by the GMK5150 in its taxi set-up - when configured with a gross vehicle weight of less than 12tonnes per axle - while the GMK5150L can accommodate up to 7.9tonnes of counterweight in its taxi configuration.

With a capacity of 11.6tonnes with its boom fully extended to 60m, the GMK5150L is said to be ideal for tower crane assembly or other applications where strength at height is required. Boosting both cranes’ overall reach is an 18m bi-fold swing-away jib, which can be extended with an 8m boom extension and an 8m jib extension. This creates a total jib length of 34m. Jib offset has been increased to 50degrees.

Volvo’s launches at bauma included three new excavators with a short swing radius. The ECR25D, ECR58D and ECR88D are designed to be in their element in small, enclosed areas or for working within a single highway lane. They offer digging performance, breakout and tear-out forces and lifting capabilities that rival their larger counterparts, said Volvo. The smallest model, the ECR25D, is particularly easy to take to where it is needed. It can be transported with up to three buckets and a hydraulic breaker on
