Italy plans motorway tunnel maintenance work

Italy is planning a series of motorway tunnel maintenance works.

Motorway tunnel maintenance works are being planned for highway stretches across Italy. The work will be worth €100 million in all, with the maintenance programme being planned by ANAS, the Italian road construction and maintenance company.

The programme is being planned to be carried out in eight individual contracts, with the work anticipated to take four years. The maintenance work will ensure that the tunnel stretches meet the latest requirements for safety, as well as ensuring optimum traffic capacity for the links.

Lot one is for the regions of Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Emilia Romagna and will be worth €10 million. Lot two is for the regions of Piedmont, Liguria and Aosta Valley and is worth €14 million. Lot three is for Lombardy region and is worth €12 million. Lot four is for the regions of Tuscany, Marche and Umbria and is worth €16 million. Lot five is for the regions of Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise and Campania and is worth €15 million. Lot six is for the regions of Basilicata, Puglia and Calabria and is worth €12 million. Lot seven is for the region of Sicily and is worth €16 million, while lot eight is for Sardinia and is worth €5 million.
