Serbia projects due for completion

Work is pushing ahead with the construction of the Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 highway projects in Serbia. Sections of the highway projects will be opened to traffic in 2017. All of Corridor 10 will be ready for use while the Obrenovac to Preljina stretch of Corridor 11 will open. Other road projects will commence including links running through Moravski and Fruskogorski. Work is pushing ahead with the construction of the Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 highway projects in Serbia. Sections of the highway projects will be opened to traffic in 2017.   • Serbia reduces cost of highway construction

    Serbia has managed to reduce the cost of building the Corridor 10 highway by €80 million. These funds will instead be used to pay for upgrades and improvements needed for the second section of the highway project, close to Neradovci. So far some 180km of the Corridor 10 highway has been built over a 40 month time frame. A further 150km of the highway has still to be built. Work on the Corridor 10 motorway is also being financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the state budget.

  • China to begin works on Serbia’s Corridor 11 motorway later this month

    Chinese company Shandong High Speed Group is planning to begin construction works on Serbia’s Corridor 11 motorway in the second half of September 2013. Shandong will participate with 51% of works on the Lajkovac-Ljig and Obrenovac-Ub parts of the motorway, with domestic companies participating in the remainder of the works, due for completion within 38 months. Meanwhile, the Azerbaijan-based firm Azvirt is working on the 40km part of the Ljig-Preljina motorway, worth a total of €308 million.
